Frangipane is one of my husband's favorite flavor, so I am always looking for delicious treats I can make for him such as this one!!


  • 1/2 cup of coconut sugar
  • 2 eggs plus 1 egg white, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup of milk, (I used almond milk)
  • 2 tbsp of greek yogurt ( I used dairy free Culina yogurt)
  • 1 1/3 cup of almond flour
  • 3/4 cup of flour (GF works as well)
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 stick of butter, melted ( coconut or avocado or even olive oil can work here as well)
  • 1 tsp of almond extract
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of sliced almonds


Preheat the oven at 350F, grease and line a springform baking pan.

Combine the eggs and sugar and mix in a stand up mixer for a good 5-7 minutes until fluffy. Add milk and yogurt and mix until combined.

Sift in the dry ingredients and whisk until batter is smooth and there are no lumps. Finally add in the cooled down melted butter, almond and vanilla extracts and mix until combined.

Pour into the baking pan and sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.

Bake for 45-50 minutes until the almonds are golden brown (cover before if you see that they get too dark) and until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Leave the cake to cool down for a it before removing from the pan. Sprinkle some icing sugar and enjoy...

I love having a slice for breakfast with a drizzle of almond butter, it is so delicious!
