I love this flaky and warm version of croque monsieur, it makes a really nice snack, school lunch or brunch.... You could even make mini ones as snack bites when you have guests over!


  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
  • 3 slices of ham ( turkey works as well)
  • 3 slices of American cheese ( or any kind you like)
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten


Preheat your oven at 425 F.

On a floured surface, divide the dough into 6 equal parts, rectangles shaped.

Lay a slice of ham and cheese on 3 of them. Place the dough on top and press on the edges with a fork. Brush with the beaten egg all over and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

It is really delicious to eat right away, but I have given it to my kids for school lunch (so at room temperature) and they loved it !
