Roasted red pepper sauce

Makes 1 cup

This is such an easy sauce to prepare and is so delicious! It is an easy take on pesto but is dairy free and nut free and you would never know when eating it!!!


  • 2 medium red bell peppers
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 of olive oil
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbs of lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp of nutritional yeast (or parmesan cheese)
  • Salt and pepper


Broil the peppers for 8-10 minutes until charred all over. Add the garlic halfway through.

When ready, leave to cool for a bit then peel the skin off. Transfer to a food processor with all the other ingredients and turn on until smooth and runny.

I used this as pasta sauce but also on roasted veggies and as a dip and it was so delicious.
