Tequila lime grilled chicken

This is a recipe that I've adapted from the Barefoot contessa and it is absolutely divine. It is super moist and so flavorful. The only downside of this is that the chicken needs to marinade all night to be tasty!


  • 4 large chicken breasts, skin on-boneless
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice
  • 3 limes juiced and zested
  • 1 small jalapeƱo, finely chopped, seeds removed
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup of tequila
  • 1/2 tsp of cumin
  • 1/2 tsp of chili flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Combine all the ingredients for the marinade and cover the chicken in a deep dish and let it rest overnight in the fridge for max flavor.

Preheat the grill and remove the chicken from the marinade and season with some salt and pepper. Discard the marinade.

Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side ( depending on the thickness of chicken). When chicken is cooked cover with foil and leave it rest for 10-15 minutes. Slice and enjoy with rice or grilled veggies.
